Many people feel more comfortable hiring someone whose background has been verified, especially for gigs that involve their personal spaces, families, or sensitive tasks. It also helps us make sure we have a reliable, quality community on the platform. So, in the end, it’s all about creating a safe, trustworthy experience for everyone involved.

Colledge strongly recommends that students on our platform perform a background check on any clients they are considering working with prior to accepting any new gig opportunities. Our platform also mandates that clients provide valid contact information and payment details, which are securely processed by Colledge. This ensures a trusted environment where students and clients can connect and transact with confidence.
No, students should never accept payment off-site. Colledge’s secure payment system protects both students and clients by providing a verified transaction record, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Accepting payment outside the platform can expose students to risks such as payment fraud, lack of documentation, and no support for resolving disputes. By keeping transactions on-site, students benefit from Colledge’s protections and support if any issues arise.

Hourly rates for gigs on Colledge can vary depending on the type of service and experience level. Here’s a general range:
Graphic Design: $25 - $60 per hour
Babysitter: $15 - $25 per hour
Tutor: $20 - $50 per hour (subject-dependent)
Dog Walker: $15 - $30 per hour
These rates can fluctuate based on factors like location, demand, and the complexity of the gig. Colledge allows students to set their own rates, so you may see some variation within each category.

No, payments should not be made in cash. All transactions should be processed through Colledge’s secure payment platform. This system protects both clients and students by providing a verified transaction record and ensuring support for any disputes or issues. Paying through the platform also helps students build a trusted profile and receive timely, documented payments.

Colledge allows for clients and students to freely interview each other prior to scheduling a gig, and while we strongly recommend that all students perform a self- administered background check to enhance their profiles, not all students have undergone a background check as this is not generally required by some clients prior to hiring a student. Of course, Colledge already has hundreds of talented students on our platform who have completed a background check, which you can find documented and evidenced by a blue Colledge checkmark on their profiles. If a background check is necessary for your gig, please be sure to specify this in your gig post to help attract the right candidates.

We’ve compiled these guidelines because we deeply value how we interact within our community. We firmly believe in upholding a standard of values and behavior. Any user found contravening these guidelines may face temporary or permanent removal from our community.

Honesty

Maintaining honesty greatly contributes to fostering secure and uplifting experiences throughout the platform.

  • Accurate Information. Provide accurate personal information; do not misrepresent qualifications or experience.
  • Fraudulent Behavior. Avoid misrepresentation for financial gain; do not impersonate another person or allow anyone else to use your user profile without permission.
  • Content Ownership. Only post content for which you have obtained the necessary rights and permissions.

Each user contributes to creating a safe environment, starting on the platform and continuing through their interactions both online and offline.

  • Communicate and Pay on the Platform. For added security and privacy, keep communications and payments through the Colledge platform.
  • Offensive and Exploitative Content. Do not upload offensive or harmful content, including material that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred, or physical harm. Do not upload content that exploits people in an abusive, violent, or sexual manner.
  • Physical Contact and Sexual Misconduct. Maintain respectful communication with other users. Avoid defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, intimidating, or misleading behavior. Acts of physical assault or violence are strictly prohibited.

Refund Policy

Colledge is a customer-service driven platform and we strive to provide students and clients with a seamless experience. Please refer to the details of our refund policy below.

Background Checks

While background checks are strongly recommended for all parties to ensure the safety and security of our Colledge community, any fees associated with background checks will not be refundable by Colledge and are the sole responsibility of students and clients using the Colledge platform.

Service Disputes

Colledge provides guidance, best practices, and communication tools on our proprietary platform to support both parties in any service engagement. If a dispute does arise, please contact help@colledge.us for review.

Subscription Refunds

Subscriptions are non-refundable and automatically renew until cancelled. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled anytime, and the prorated portion of the subscription will be refunded. Any completed jobs prior to the cancellation will be subject to payment and not eligible for a refund.
