Your reporting is crucial in maintaining trust. If another user violates our guidelines, let us know. We monitor the site to ensure compliance, so we've got your back!
Your profile is the first impression that future clients will see. Use this to your advantage by showcasing your professional background, skills, and unique qualities. Make sure you have an up-to-date, professional, good-quality profile picture. PRO TIP: Include in your bio that you are willing to offer references to capture the attention of prospective employers.
Take the time to carefully review each gig listing before you apply or respond to clients who reach out to you. If anything seems unclear, don't hesitate to ask questions. Clients will appreciate your interest, and once they receive your application, it opens up an opportunity for further conversation. If a gig listing seems too good to be true, such as offering an unusually high hourly rate, it's important to be cautious. Please report any suspicious accounts or gig posts to our support team so we can help!
Prepare for the interview process by carefully considering the tasks and duties you're comfortable with beforehand. If you find that a client is requesting too much during the interview, it could be a sign to explore other opportunities. Interviews may take place over the phone, in a public setting, or at the client's home. Make sure to confirm with the client which one you are the most comfortable with, and if a proposed interview location doesn't feel right to you, suggest an alternative meeting place. For the initial in-person introduction, we strongly advise our users to meet over the phone or in a public location.
Before you start a new gig, you can definitely tell your friends and family all about it. Be sure to share where you'll be working, what your hours are like, and how they can get in touch with you should anything come up. Remember the list of boundaries you made before your interview? Keep them in mind. Stick to your limits. If a client asks you to do something that makes you uncomfortable, politely remind them of the discussion you had during your interview.
Once you've started working with the client, it's crucial to stay alert for any concerning behaviors, like frequently changing the agreed-upon hourly rates or gig location. Occasionally, a gig might not be the right fit, and that's completely okay! Our support team is here to offer assistance and guidance. If you encounter any of these unfavorable changes, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know!
We ask you to complete a background check to help make the platform safer and build trust between you and potential clients. Many people feel more comfortable hiring someone whose background has been verified, especially for gigs that involve their personal spaces, families, or sensitive tasks. It also helps us make sure we have a reliable, quality community on the platform. So, in the end, it’s all about creating a safe, trustworthy experience for everyone involved.
After posting a gig, expect to receive applications from students. The more information you provide, the higher-quality candidates you'll attract. Clients often find it helpful to include specifics such as location, day, and time. Following these gig posting tips can greatly enhance your chances of finding the right student for your gig.
You can easily browse through student profiles on our website to find the perfect match for your gig. With unlimited messaging capabilities, communication is seamless, allowing you to discuss gig details directly with students.
Additionally, you have the option to invite students to jobs directly, ensuring a personalized and efficient hiring process tailored to your specific needs.
Take a look at the profiles of students who have applied to your gig. These profiles provide background check confirmation, a bio, past reviews, rates, gig specialties, languages they speak, and the university/college they attend. Alternatively, consider contacting other students in your area who meet your criteria.
Once you've connected with multiple students, schedule an interview to determine if they are the right fit. Ask them about their experience, availability, and interest in the gig. Additionally, review the gig posting with them.
PRO TIP: Ask the students for references and check their profile page to see their reviews from previous clients.
Once you've hired a student, observe them on the gig to ensure they're meeting your expectations, and keep communications frequent through the Colledge's message center. After the gig is complete, ask for a brief report on how it went. Occasionally, a student might not be the right fit, and that's completely okay! If you encounter any of these unfavorable changes, please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know!
Don't forget to review our students! This allows 5-star students to continue getting gigs and earning on the platform. Also, pass on the review to other clients so they know who to hire!
